Staying Connected With Your Audience
An email list -- your database of contacts who are interested in receiving your e-newsletter -- is one of the most valuable assets you can have on the Web.
Ideally, you'd want to have some kind of "opt-in" (signup) form, along with an enticing offer, to encourage visitors to join your list.
Then, you'll need a way to manage all those contacts. There are some great companies that specialize in helping you manage your email list, and send out newsletters. Our favorite is Mailchimp.
And then you'll need to develop (i.e. have us make for you) some stylish email newsletters full of relevant content for your subscribers.
It can be a lot of work, but it's easy for us, because we do it all the time. Here's an example of a weekly newsletter that goes out to subscribers to The Healing Waterfall, one of our websites:
- A banner heading that has the same basic design cues as the website it's connected with.
- A featured image, in this case a conglomerate of some of the products the site offers.
- Promotion for a coupon sale. Coupons can be set up in the website's e-commerce admin.
- A call-to-action, linking back to the website.
This particular client sends out email once a week, to a list of about 10,000 subscribers. There's a turnover of subscribers, too. New ones come in, and others leave. So cultivating the list is part of the process. And so is keeping the good customers coming back for more.
Whatever your business, we can help you set up your:
- opt-in page
- email list
- newsletter templates
